For a night of Miami Beach glamour with your girlfriends, hit up the Delano. You don’t have to be a guest to enjoy the food, drinks, and atmosphere in the stylish spot, but you do have to look good, so throw on your best pair of heels and that special dress and you’re ready to roll. You crew looks fierce as you sashay through the stylish lobby, with its sky-high ceilings and shiny wooden floors. Expansive, white dividers and long, billowing curtains make you feel like you’re on the set of a music video (several have been filmed here, of course). Everything about the Delano is light, clean, and airy, and you soon know you’re in for a night to remember at the hotel that kicked off the modern era of Miami style back in the mid-’90s.
Begin your evening with a drink and a bite at UMI Sushi and Sake Bar. With its glowing table lamps and potted orchid accents, it’s the perfect place to sip sake and test out your chopstick skills on bites of lobster, beef, and, of course, excellent sushi and sashimi. After dinner, move on to the Rose Bar. This place is so old-school that the drinks don’t even have names. The Bombay Sapphire, Fernet Branca, Maraschino, Rhubarb Bitters might be a mouthful to order, but the combo is delightful. Between sips of your clean, sweetly minty concoction, swivel round to face the lobby for some primo people-watching. If you think you saw a celebrity, you did.
Since the glamorous Delano pool has been calling your name since you arrived, slip off your shoes, step out into the warm night, and take a seat at the silver table seemingly floating on the big, gorgeous pool’s surface. Cabana girls will come around with small glasses of strawberry piña colada, so have yourself a sip or two. When things start to wind down, check out one of the white-canopied pooolside bungalos. These mini-paradises have everything from flatscreen TVs to marble soaking tubs, so you can take a little vacation from your vacation.
