MANATEES, PANTHERS AND CROCODILES

SHARE

There is something to be said for getting back to nature, breathing in the pristine air and taking in the quiet outdoors. However, this silence may be temporary if you bring your excited kids along! A family outing here is the perfect place to teach your kids about wildlife as you observe them in their natural habitat, like endangered manatees in the murky swamp or even fearsome panthers (who are hopefully not thinking about how tasty you look). Take the mile-long Anhinga Trail, where you’ll stride through dense and mysterious mangrove forests, verdant coastal prairies and past crocodile-infested lagoons. Don’t miss the photo op at the observation tower in Shark Valley. Set the timer and jump into frame or ask another fellow tourist to snap that perfect family shot.
