GET HANDS ON WITH MUSIC HISTORY

SHARE

As responsible parents, you’re always looking for that family outing that is not only entertaining, but educationally enriching as well. Your music-loving kids are sure to relish a visit to the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, a place where learning about music is equal parts enjoyable and instructive. After learning about 160 genres of music (seriously, 160!) on the fourth floor, you and your kids will make your way down to the third floor where interactive displays abound. Your kids will love getting hands-on with the electronic instruments in the “Roland Live” exhibit, an eye-opening experience that shows just how much work goes into the creation of their favorite songs. As you come across music legends your kids aren’t familiar with, take a few moments to enlighten them. You can explain the trailblazing genius of Miles Davis as you come across his trumpet, while your kids might return the favor by acquainting you with Daft Punk as you examine their neon-red suits worn at the 50th Grammy Awards. Hopefully though, you’ll get lucky and come across an artist you both love!
