Three Aces: Hard Rockin’ Food and Fun

SHARE

When it comes to hitting the town, you and your gal pals have seen it all, done it all. From kitschy sing-along musicals to bourgie brunches, you can have a ball in any setting, but tonight you’re embarking upon a completely unconventional girls’ night out. You’re heading to Three Aces for some food, fun, and just a tad bit of trouble. This popular restaurant and bar in Little Italy is a bikers’ paradise, and it’s not uncommon to see a dozen or more shiny Harleys parked outside. But don’t let that keep you away– it’s one of the friendliest spots in town, with a fun-loving crowd of regulars, a clubby atmosphere of dark wood and black vinyl, and a hard-rockin’ soundtrack from the likes of Black Sabbath and the Stones. Show your generosity by picking up the first round at the bar–Old Crow is the house favorite whiskey–and raising a toast to new experiences with old friends. Then find a table and prepare for a feast as you peruse an Italian-inspired menu that prides itself on local ingredients. Start with one of the specialty pizzas topped with spicy Calabrese sausage, parmesan cream, or buffalo mozzarella. Then ramp up to heartier options like grilled shrimp with fried grits, a saffron risotto that’s enhanced by braised beef cheek, or a burger topped with bacon jam (these cats are wizards with bacon). Once the food’s gone, the evening goes on as you show off your skills on the pool table, challenging friends and strangers alike to a game of eight ball–loser buys the winner a beer. Oh, and if you want some lasting evidence of this night of mayhem–and that’s a pretty big if–there’s also an old-timey photo booth standing by to capture the highlights and lowlights.
